TikTok Trends September 2025 Autumn
What should you do if you feel like your Instagram following is stuck, and not growing?
This is a feeling I know many brands and creators struggle with.
The answer is not to use 3 hashtags, or post at 5pm and 6am.
Today I am going to give you 5 simple ways you can turn your month around and see a positive boost in followers:
1) Review your top performing posts for follower growth over the last year.
Repost them exactly as they are on Trial Reels.
Remake them with new twists, and fresh trending music around ~10k uses.
Reel? Turn It Into a carousel. Carousel? Turn It Into a reel.
Repeating concepts is actually important for an audience to understand you, and also help yous get clearer about what you should be posting about and stop wasting time on content that doesn’t grow your audience.
2) Get back to Introductions
When I say ‘basics’ I want you to think about the foundation of your story, and who you are - how you might introduce yourself to a stranger.
I want you to use those basics in your story-telling, as a sub-header or part of the hook.
For example;
“30-something Mom who travels more now with kids than before kids.”
“My fall routine as a former teacher and Wife of a Cop.”
For a service business: “Negotiation advice from a Business Coach with 16 years corporate experience.”
For a product: “Sleep advice from a company with more than 100 years In baby care.”
Do this in all of your videos and instantly you’re creating a bingeable series for strangers to recognize you in their brain and hit that follow button.
3) Hop on a newsworthy topic with your take
But you have to do it fast!! I’m talking within 6 hours ideally of news breaking, you want to get your reaction or summary on your channel.
If you’re someone who is the first to know, you are providing a valuable service to people and create a bit of ‘hype’ around who you are.
Talk to camera for this and you’ll invite people into your world for a conversation - watch the comments and follows flow in!
4) Go Local for Engagement
You’ve heard the tip to engage for 20 minutes before / after you post, but who you engage with is also really Important. Local brands and Individuals like to follow OTHER local people. We’re nosy! We want to know our neighbors!
Search for brands and Individuals that are at your local city spots and establishments, and do a little following and nurturing. You will see reciprocation with the ‘follow for follow’, especially at the local level.
Now that football season Is back In session, is your house all <Insert NFL team> all the time? Sports brings people together so showing team spirit for your home team can bring in new followers from your fanbase.
Get out and about! When you meet new people, and go places, show up in your stories and ask for handles to tag. For businesses, this should be your customers! Your employees! Your community! The most social people, also happen to be the most social people. Look for community groups you can join and be the girl or brand * that does the most * online for the group.
5) Boost your posts (Oooo hot take for an organic marketer?)
Yes creators, even you can boost content you are proud of. Why not? If all of the above is not feasible, or you’ve tried it, there’s no shame in boosting your content to reach more new audiences. I would boost only content that has great engagement or brought you new followers before. If you are building your following for a business, you should take all routes possible to grow authentically, paying for more reach is not the same as paying for followers. People still have to WANT to follow! Now, this Isn’t going to be what gets you from 5k to 10k followers, because you likely dont want to invest $5k and get 1 follower per dollar. BUT If you’re having a bad month, and want a win, I’m giving you permission here to give boosting a shot! See what $20 gets you. And If It doesn’t bring In followers, you know you gotta go back to tweaking your creative content and messaging.
A year ago I would have told brands not to boost and to only use the backend of Meta to do your paid advertising. And that’s still, largely where you should do most of your paid work - boosting has the unique advantage of showing you exactly what you get for community growth for your money. I’ve tested it, and it works better than running traffic to your IG page!!
I hope these help! Let me know if you try any :)
On to the prompts :)
It’s A New Season
A new season with new opportunities and new people.
This TikTok trend uses a nostalgic Carrie Bradshaw audio:
“After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.”
Creators are using it to close out summer and welcome fall.
The format is simple:
Show quick clips of summer memories, then transition into cozy fall vibes like leaves, sweaters, or that first pumpkin spice latte.
This trend It’s about change. Not just the seasons, but life shifts we all feel. People connect with that.
For me, the shift hit when I swapped out sunscreen for jackets in the hallway. One season ends, another begins.
What’s one thing you’re carrying forward into fall? Are you ready for the season!?
Examples: Fall 1, Autumn 1, Book, Airport, New Wardrobe, Fall 2, IG audio.
