September 2025: TikTok Trends
If you were to write the curriculum to your life’s class…
what would be the required reading?
what would be the take home project?
Recently TikTok creators have been using this wholesome concept to create powerful, authentic syllabi for their audience.
The trend was started in earnest by creator Elizabeth Jean: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8BGTP2y/
So as our little ones go back to school, summer heat fades to cooler mornings, and we nestle into new routines…
I have an invitation for you.
I invite you to carve out time in your content creation, to arrive as both a teacher and a student.
Tell stories with the confidence of a Kindergarten teacher enthralling her kids on the circle time carpet.
When you’re showing, not telling, don’t leave out the juicy details or assume we already know steps 1-3.
Be consistent, there every day with a Stanley cup and smile on, to welcome the audience who may just need one thing to feel better: you.
When you’re the student, experiment with humility and curiosity as if content creation was your favorite subject.
Look for strong partners on group projects.
Raise your hand high and often… or goof off!
(There’s no wrong way to grow and learn!)
and your contribution might just be exactly the answer.
On to the content prompts and trends for the week!
The Summer I Turned…
Summer flew by in the blink of an eye. One minute we were buying sunscreen, the next we’re taking the kids back-to-school and thinking in a pumpkin spice latte.
The season may be over, but the memories aren’t. And TikTok just gave us the perfect way to wrap them up.
This trend borrows its vibe (and soundtrack) from the teen drama, The Summer I Turned Pretty.
The format is simple:
Add a text-on-screen caption like “The summer I turned confident” or “The summer I ended up broke”. Pair it with clips or photos that tell your version of the story, whether that’s glowing selfies, messy cooking experiments, or just B-roll of you scrolling on the couch.
For me, it would be “The summer I lived at the playground”. My camera roll is just slides, swings, and sunscreen-streaked faces of my kids. Not glamorous, but it’s real, and that’s the whole point.
So…what’s your “Summer I…” arc? Try it, post it, and let your season speak for itself.
Examples: The summer I turn confident, The summer I got addicted to matcha, The summer I turned into a wife, The summer I spent all my money on Bloom, The summer I turned my bank account into a joke, Audio Instagram.
