Social Media Trend June 2026
What story are you sitting on?
I’ll confess first.
I recently posted that my family and I were considering an International move.
There have been updates, and so many folks have kindly asked me what my plan is.
And I have been just sitting on the story.
I want to give it the post it deserves!
I want to share creatively and take my community on this journey with me.
But I have been putting it off because I don’t have the perfect footage yet.
Or I don’t have alone time to do the voiceover with a mic.
Or I haven’t decided the edit style I want to do.
Sometimes perfectionism gets in the way of powerful opportunities, and a story doesn’t get told.
Two months from now it will be old news.
I am wrestling with this.
This week I spoke to two members who haven’t posted about their second pregnancy yet…
It was SO CLEAR talking to them, what I wanted to tell them.
I wish I could shake myself and give myself the same advice.
Pregnancy is a natural story-teling arch In your life - It has a beginning, a middle, and end. It’s deeply human, deeply relatable for other Moms, and an incredibly beautiful chapter.
(Even if you hate being pregnant, It’s still an Incredible story of overcoming the difficulties)
I regret not taking more videos of myself pregnant.
I regret not taking more videos of my second baby.
Don’t end up like me.
Don’t miss the window to take us on that journey with you!
Celebrate and embrace where you’re at.
The future you will be so happy to look back on the stories, and they’ll be beautiful and human and true.
Even if they aren’t perfect.
Social Trend of the Week
Talking about cultural moments, I don’t know about you, but my algorithm has been serving the sweetest World Cup videos this week. Even if soccer is not usually your thing, these clips are impossible to ignore. They show people from completely different cultures and backgrounds finding connection in the most unexpected ways, and it has been a bright spot on everyone’s feeds.
What started as a wave of negative headlines has turned into something surprisingly wholesome. There's the Tartan Army sweeping Bostonians off their feet (donating money to charities and drying up the pubs), Japanese fans tidying the stands after their games and exploring America for the first time, the romance between Kansas and Algeria, and the Norwegian “Vikings” rowing through the streets. There are so many other little stories that remind us how kind people can be when they're being themselves. Social media has captured all of this in real time, making it feel like we are watching the world get smaller in the best way.
This week has been full of cultural exchanges that make the whole event feel worth it. Connection, storytelling, and community have been at the center of everything, and it has taken over the U.S. in a way no one expected. Canada and Mexico also have beautiful stories coming out of their own experiences during the tournament, and it has been amazing to see how much joy people are finding in each other.
If you want a little renewed hope, you might want to check out some of these trending moments.
Examples:Tartan Army, Algeria-Kansas, Blue Samurais, Bosnia, Social Media, Cape verde, Vikings, Japan.
