TikTok Trends October 2025
If you’re reading this, you’re in Group 7.
In case you missed it, that means you’re cool .
Have you seen this concept takeover your TikTok feed this week?
“Group 7” started as a social media experiment by musician Sophia James, who casually declared that users who saw the 7th video in her series first were now part of “Group 7.”
What’s crazy was the speed with which it took over…
In less than a week, Netflix even played along, creating a “Section 7” on the homepage featuring a curated group of films!
What I find interesting about what this teaches us is two things:
Naming your audience has power! What is your loving pet name for your audience? FYI I am calling you guys Silly Gooses from now on.
Gen Z and Gen Alpha move fast - and the inside joke of internet brain rot just has to be catchy, it doesn’t have to have deep meaning. If yoj or your brand can jump on it, you can gain some instant credibility with these generations that are known to be tough to connect with.
As we head into Halloween week, I’m hopeful the internet turns a bit more fun and spooky. This is the lightest year for the Halloween buzz I have ever witnessed! How about you?
I think the global political sphere and sports world took precedence on our feeds this month.
I spent time with my godmother this weekend who gave me some interesting insight.
She is a fervent journalist in the Baltimore area, who once took on famed Alabama football coach Bear Bryant for not allowing her into the locker room to do game day reporting because she was a woman.
When I was growing up, she always encouraged me with the quote, “Well behaved women rarely make history.” Much to my rule-abiding mother’s dismay. (How they’re best friends is a real opposites attract scenario.)
She told me, “Lindsay, we are in a great resetting. No one knows what is going to happen. No one has the answers right now. Ride it out. Loosen your grip on what was, and what you thought would be.”
I think she was referring to a mix of things — AI, politics, the economy.
Vague, maybe. But it gave me peace.
Maybe the lack of fun Halloween and fall content is just another symptom of the norm changing. Equilibrium off. Change coming.
Breakthrough on the verge.
So if you’ve been feeling like things have been different…
Maybe your breakthrough is just around the corner.
Onto the content prompts!
Pop & Post
Halloween’s almost here, and if you still don’t know what to wear or which pop culture moment to channel, don’t worry, we’ve got you. Here are some fun, trending costume ideas inspired by social media and what’s hot right now:
Elphaba from Wicked — or go as a duo with Glinda.
Morticia Addams — bonus points if your kids are Wednesday and Pugsley.
K-Pop Demon Hunters — For the kids or with the kids.
Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce (Engaged Edition) — the ultimate couple costume this year.
Katy Perry (Astronaut Era) — I know we don't talk about Bruno, but this was a wild pop culture moment.
KATSEYE (GAP concept) — all-denim everything.
Chappell Roan — recreate one of her bold album covers.
Labubu — because nothing’s scarier than an expensive little monster.
Kylie Jenner from her latest Kylie Cosmetics shoot — platinum bodysuit, wig, and all.
Kendrick Lamar & Dancers: Do I need to say more?
Trends move fast, so have fun with it. Think of your costume as your own viral moment waiting to happen.
P.S. Remember when I mentioned the Victoria’s Secret fashion show collab with that K-pop group? Well… turns out one of the bras worn by one of the members is now sold out in many places. Some outlets are calling it “the Tzuyu Effect.”
Not saying I called it first… but I kinda did. If you like it, worry not - according to Victoria’s Secret’s TikTok, it’s back in stock!
Without Telling Me Your Job…
In this trend people share the phrases they say all the time at work, like “Can everyone see my screen?” or “Let’s circle back” , without ever mentioning what they do.
It’s quick, funny, and super relatable. Plus, it’s a great way to get your audience talking in the comments.
How to join in:
Make a carousel with 3–5 of your go-to lines.
Or turn it into a Reel - whatever fits your style.
Ask followers to guess your job in the comments.
Examples: Behind, Dentistry, Dental nurse, Pilates, Drink, Nails, Calendar and Questions.
