Silly Little News

The disappearing photo feature has arrived!

In the spirit of how fast this silly little social world moves, Instagram just launched "Instants." It is a brand new way to share those raw, unpolished moments with your people without them living on your grid forever.

It works a lot like the "view once" feature on SnapChat or WhatsApp. Basically, your friends can see the photo one time and they can’t take a screenshot.

You will find it in your DM tab by looking for the little pile of photos in the bottom right. When you snap an Instant, you can send it straight to your Close Friends or the followers you follow back. Once they see it, poof! It is gone.

TikTok shopping is on the rise!!

TikTok isn’t just a place to scroll anymore. It’s basically turned into our silly little shopping mall. Donte Murry from TikTok was talking about how people don’t just see a product and buy it on the spot. They see it in a video, get curious, and immediately go hunting for more info. Apparently 77% of us do that after seeing an affiliate post.

The part that really got me is that the real selling doesn’t even happen in the video. It happens in the comments. Influencer posts get you interested, but it’s the girlies saying “I bought this and it actually works” that push you over the edge. Donte said brands should be paying attention to those threads and actually starting the conversations people are already looking for. When people show up authentic in the comments, that’s when we trust it.

Beyond the impulse buy, there are also repeat buyers on TikTok. How-to content is with winner here. We love a tutorial. We love a breakdown.
